Help Needed!

Would any of my lovely customers in the Northampton area be interested in putting up a 'New Shop Opening' poster (shown in the pic) in their place of work, school, uni, club, pub, gym etc for me??

If so, please email me (lisa@barkitty.co.uk) if you have a printer, or send me your address if you'd like me to post you hard copies...

I’d be so grateful…

Canagan Critique

My lovely friend Kate shared this independent review on Canagan food with me. I talk all the time about the importance of feeding your dog quality food – I can immediately tell if a dog isn’t eating the right food for them. Skin complaints, bad breath, flatulence, tear staining and more. If your dog has any of these symptoms then consider changing to a higher quality, grain free food like Canagan or Lily’s Kitchen.

We love Bernie & Riley!

We are huge fans of BBC Radio Northampton’s Bernie Keith & Riley at Barkitty, so we really enjoyed this video. Especially since Riley is still wearing his personalised name collar!

Relocation, relocation, relocation

I have a big announcement to make, and I hope you’ll all be happy to support me in it! Barkitty is relocating to Castle Ashby, still in Northamptonshire. It’s around 10 minutes from central Northampton on the A428, easily accessible from the A45, in a really beautiful location.

The picturesque village of Castle Ashby offers you the unique combination of peaceful, easy rural shopping and walking in the gardens of Castle Ashby. Explore the tranquil gardens and relax over a morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea. Browse around the interesting variety of shops in the old converted farm buildings where you will find special gifts and crafts for any occasion.

I really hope to see you all over there, and look forward to welcoming some new faces too! The restaurant and surrounding shops are very dog-friendly, and there’s adequate free parking.

We will be having a leaving party and launch event too, which I will let you know of when it’s all confirmed.

We hope to open the new shop on Tuesday June 10th. The opening hours will be as below;

Closed Monday
Tues – Sat 10am – 5pm
Sunday 11am – 4pm
During January – Feb the shop will close at 4pm on weekdays.

Many thanks again,

Lisa xx

Ettie

It is with huge sadness that I share a message from Ami with you... She lost her beautiful little bichon, Ettie, who has visited the shop before. Have a read of her message below, and I know she is in good company here of true dog lovers who can feel her heartbreak

"Not sure whether your aware but we lost our little girl, Ettie the other week. She was nearly 4 years old.
She collapsed on the Sunday night and was gone by Wednesday afternoon. Unfortunately we still don't know exactly what happened.

My message to you today is to stress the importance of pet insurance. No one feels more stupid than me for not having it but it's always been on my 'list of things to do' but never got around to actually doing it. Ettie had never issues before, she was a healthy, expensive pedigree so I never realised the importance of having her insured from day one. I loved her with all my heart so why I never protected her with something I'll never know.
Ettie's treatment, care and surgery cost us £6,500 in total which we've had to empty out savings, bank accounts and credit cards. We were lucky enough we were in the situation that we could give her every opportunity to survive as we never wanted to give up on her but if we hadn't, then we would have had to give up in the first instance and never know if the treatment would have saved her".

Please stress the importance of pet insurance to everyone you know. Since Ettie has passed I have come across several people that have also 'never got around to getting insurance' which makes me realise it's a common thing and sometimes people just need a little reminder of how important it can be and if it's Etties story that helps that then at least we would of helped from our awful experience"

Best Dog

A few weeks ago on my Facebook page I shared an image of the 'Best Dog' collar Cadbury wore for his owners wedding! He was ring-bearer, and it looks like he did a fab job!

The newlyweds, Mr & Mrs Boswell, have kindly let me share a couple of adorable pics of Cadbury with them on their big day.

I think including your pets as part of your wedding is such a great idea, would you do it?
